It’s Time to Go to Bed

Night has once again descended on Calhoun County. The people are sitting on their front porches enjoying the coolness of the evening after a drizzly day.

The Calhoun County High School Prom is just winding up. This years Prom Queen was Mary Jane Olsen of the Olsen Twins but by the time the night is over she will have shared her crown with her identical twin sister Mary Joe Olsen.

Sometime during the evening they will slip into the ladies room and switch the crown from one head to the other for the rest of the night.

Being twins they have managed to pull this off many times before for they do not believe that one deserves an honor more than the other and in order to carry it off they will also have to switch dates which has also never been a problem for them before. It has left a few confused boys behind but what the heck as Marry Lou says, Can't take one without the other.

Jim down at the Handy Pantry is looking forward to tomorrow his day off. He is planning on going down to Rush Creek and trying to catch a few fish. There have been no fish in Rush Creek since they put the plant in upstream 10 yrs ago but no one need tell Jim that. He is as happy sitting on the bank listening to the babble of the creek and just enjoying the sun on his face. The fish are just an excuse for him to lie around in the sun for a while.

The Widow Jones will be presenting the latest batch of police cars back to their rightful owners and trying to explain why she always wins no matter the police cruiser she is up against.

The sun is down and all up and down the street you can hear neighbors saying good night to each other as they head in ahead of the mosquitos

Good night to all and may your dreams be blessed with the sweetness of good health and those things which will bring you happiness and not sadness. To make sure The Widow Perkins is running about sprinkling Happy Dust on each and every one of you
