Never-Never Land
If we could
stay children…
forever and a
day
Would it not be
a grand way
to laugh and
play...
come what may?
No worries
would we see
Our only tears
would be over a
skinned knee
Prejudice and
hate
would never
rear their heads
Children are
not that way...it is said
Each night we
would dream
of
harmony in our beds
But alas…we
grow
and enter the
grown ups` world of woe
For someone has
to be in charge
of this and
that
and cares...so
large
For if we did
not…
who would stir
the pot…
who would cast
our lot
and assign the
lordly chores
...to those who
would fight in
wars…
