Garland Carrying the Flag at Klingon Veterans' Guild at Dover Peace Conference

 A Statement

I feel like I have been in another War the last week or so. I have been called names on this list and on other lists, even Veteran's list. I am not a US Hater, I am not a liar, and I am not a Hypocrite. I hate War. I hate the sound of friends or myself crying in the night, fighting the Demon PTSD, wishing I had died with my friends. I miss friends who I have seen die and those who have died after years of hurting, in pain and continuing injustice, for just doing what they were told to do by idiots who have never seen what they did nor care that they did it for them.

I hate a system that uses the youngest, brightest, and best to fight in Wars and then asks them to die alone in some hole in the wall armpit of the world, either in a Battlefield or a slow death in a Veterans Hospital. Man has not become better, it is the same world: Hitler, Stalin, Khan, Tojo, Saddamn, Bin Lousy, and Kim have raped and tortured their own people. One more War will not change that.

One more battle will never make it all better. One more UN vote will not make it work. We are all that there is to stop the Idiots who make war. We are Peacekeepers. We are Veterans. We have seen what humans do to each other and we must stand and stop them again and again until we have made it better, even though it is only for a brief time.

As we did before in Flanders Fields, Iwo Jima, Saigon, the Tonkin Gulf, San Juan Hill, Normandy, Somalia: we rose up to make America the lighthouse of the world. Now we are on the eve of another Nightmare, another War. Just as then, our Sons - and our Daughters, too - will die in some armpit of the world or later on in some Veterans Hospital.

Can I ask for this one simple favor? Be with them now and more importantly when they return home.

They are Peacekeepers; they will be Veterans too!
