Once in a day long gone, I listened to the oceans song, above the
feathered curlew flew in skies of shattered crystal blue.
The gulls spoke in joyful shouts, flitting through the water spouts,
along the beach sandpiper skittered, watching for the bubbles that
spoke of dinner.
Golden sands in the sunlight glittered, waves washing shells like
treasure, to the child that laughed that day, singing in the salty
spray.
To Creator prayers were lifted, from a heart so fully gifted,
cleansed with smoke by grandmother, bathed in love from the true
worlds owner.
Standing there upon the shore, watching in awe as Mother Earth was
breathing, each waves ebb and flow a heart beat rhythm we well know
and honor.
What beauty I was blessed to see, a memory that lives as long as me,
here is one thing that cannot be taken, a day that lives inside of
me forever.
Through a life of rocks and stones, a precious time though now long
gone, brings a smile in the hardest times, a comfort that is always
mine!
