Some singers could put a song in your heart.

Ray Charles could make your whole mind, spirit, and body sing.

Some singers got the beat and could feel the music.

Ray Charles gave you the beat and poured the music into you.

Ray stayed young in heart, because he didn't see people get old.

When Ray pounded on the piano, those notes and chords would

set up a vibration that traveled across the floor and up into your feet.

Today, I think, is "the day the music died."
