DARK LADY

I have looked death in the eye, and seen her look back at me.

I have felt the fear of death and shuddered in its grip.

I have turned my back to death and hoped for the best,

knowing she was always there waiting for me.

I no longer fear what might be.

I do cherish those moments I have left.

Death holds no fear for me,

as I have been there too many times before.
