THE DIGGERS

I see the smiling faces

of the Diggers, one and all,

I wonder now, where are they?

How many heard the call?

The Celestial Bugler was busy

He made a heavenly sound ~

while collecting all the Soldiers' Souls

from War's hallowed battleground.

Here's to all the smiling Diggers

who served their country well

and answered her call for brave young men

and rode the trains to Hell.
