Eleanor
Eleanor had opened the door
To an idea of heart and mind
She maintained the speaking floor
From midnight ‘til quarter to nine
Forthright and to the point
She said, “Listen close my friends!”
“To form a perfect miter joint”
“You must crosscut both the ends”
Her audience was speechless
Profound her statement was
They called a meeting with the press
They said, “for just because”
Eleanor travels the circuit
Making speeches far and wide
She tells how to make a perfect fit
Using a single pencil line
