Euphemia

Euphemia lived in Iowa State

From twenty six to ninety nine

She weighed ninety pounds and a penny weight

The gay ninety’s was her time

She met and loved and lived and died

In the country where she was born

Reared seven children with motherly pride

Along with gardens of squash and corn

In the year of ninety nine

Euphemia was seventy three

She knew from instinct it was time

To leave her worldly spree

She had done all she could do

She gave all that she could give

She was in her life tried and true

She was always ready to forgive
