FOR GAR
Everyone’s friend who responds to tease,
But whose genuine passion is to please,
Who stands up for the things that he believes,
With pride he defends what he perceives.
No man could be more straight and true,
He is one among the patriotic few
Whose friendship reaches far and deep,
Whose acquaintance he would wish to keep.
As large in life as the ship he served,
With a faithful wife so much deserved,
He struggles with a vile disease,
With which his strength still disagrees,
For he is strong and he will fight,
Until the Sun consumes the night.
