The Fourth of July
The Fourth of July, 2004
has come and gone like so many before
We have paraded and loudly celebrated
in memory of those brave souls
who so very long ago ..
founded this land of the free
Now this year is quickly moving on
Summer is hot…but not as hot
as where in Iraq…the war drags on...
where another day of life
is cause for celebration...
for the fireworks are for real...
and every night…the Iraqi sky
is like the Fourth Of July...
