Politicians and war-mongers

sit and chat ~

their superficial care and concern

lie dormant

while they pass the hat ~

for dollars to help them

win the election -

they don't worry about

finding sincere perfection

with which to rule us

lowly persons ~

their constituency

(that's you and me)....

They sit and chat

and sip from cut glass

while some lowly person

cuts their grass;

and our sons and daughters

are across the sea,

while the waiter brings

them booze or tea....

Some are against abortion

some are for Women’s' Lib;

and all of them seem

to me to be somewhat

insincere and glib.
