HE CAME HOME TODAY
God bless you Lord, for my brave son Came home to me today, For now that awful war is won, And he is home to stay. For every minute of every hour, Of every day that passed, I prayed that war would not devour, My son in battle cast. Oh yes, he's changed; he's now a man, Who went away a boy, As soon as that dread war began, But now he brings me joy. For he was spared from harm, dear Lord, From all who would destroy.
