Her Table

The table is set, crystal plates and glasses

soft glow of  Candles in Silver and Gold,

shadows dancing, white linen napkins in rings, White Gold

Cold Chardonnay, goblets made of Silver and Gold,

Ice bucket ready, filled with cold ice

Two Chairs, Two Places, Two hearts,

Two hearts so much in Love, Two hearts

The crystal is set but has never been used

The silver is polished and sits unused

The linen napkins in their rings of White Gold

The Goblets are ready, just waiting for cold wine

Love and Romance and lives now on hold,

Table will remain set; nothing will be moved

All will remain, must remain as before he left for War

she now waits, waits for his return, Candle in the window

She waits for his return from War.
