I Am Pleased to Be
in My Company I have no axe to
grind. I feel nothing is
owed to me Everywhere I look
I find It is exceedingly
sweet to be Of those who wined
and dined. I did my duty to
the US of A And reaped as I
did sow In work as well as
in play I enjoyed all that
I could know With no debt I
could sail away. I look for no
thanks nor handout I am owed nothing
but what I took I’ve no link to
those who pout I went as told and
had a look When over, with
joy I did shout. How lovely to be
free of debt. I owe not, nor am
I owed My fortune is as I
deem to bet At my choice have
I sowed Happiness is alone
to be let. Rogue - 17 April
