Please take me to the lake

Float me with my friends

The funeral home can wait

Have a few people at the wake

Tell me what they said

As they watch me lie in state

Put me back to sleep

Leave me in my bed

Don’t let me see you weep

Tell me why I died

Paint my blue lips red

Close my tired eyes

If I wake up dead

Ship me to the afterlife

Forgive the life I led

When I was still alive
