If Only I Were Twenty Again

If only I were twenty again,

I’d do all the things I neglected then:

I’d learn quantum physics with alacrity

And Go Adventuring Across the Seas.

Yes, I’d paint a stunning masterpiece,

Then find the fabled 'Lost Star of the East'.

I’d even harness the power of the sun,
If only I were twenty-one.

Then off to La Scala for a bravura turn

Donating to charity the millions I'd earn.

I’d conquer disease and poverty forever

And forge a peace no nation could sever.

I’d unite the world in harmony

Long before I was twenty-three.

I’d enthrall the house at the Bolshoi Ballet

And earn a Tony the very next day.

I’d win the World Series for DC once more

And whip the Heavyweight Champ in four.

Think of the wondrous things I'd contrive

...If only I were twenty-five.
