IN THE NAME OF COUNTY
Today as I looked out my patio
I saw a beautiful sunset
All golden, overlapping the blue
I wondered, in all the glorious things
Why can there not be peace
To see in our world
In the name of country
Let freedom ring above the pain
Can we remove this terrorism
To not fear flying on a plane
Or walk into our cities, our tall buildings
That may have bombs calling for our name
We live in a land longing for world peace
I saw a picture today
Of our soldiers far away
They seemed so tired as they walked
In the sandy desert, hot every day
Their uniforms covered in dust
Downcast, a lonesome look
Oh may peace come to earth
Let it begin in me, for other's good
How can we tell people
Who've never known freedom's call
Hungry, not just for food
But for peace above all
Will they ever see the peace that we know
Will terrorists stop fighting their fellow man
For a god they do not understand
Of a Muslim land
Let me pray for our solders, in the bright sun
May they soon come home, every one
In the name of our country, together let us stand
With freedom to hold everyone's hand
God protect us in The USA
For we will always seek to live
The American way.
