IN THE PATH OF A STAR

I feel the night's black

velvet cloak

wrap around me,

soft and warm

I feel a presence

close beside me

She keeps me safe

from any harm

This is how I think

it will come to be

when my time comes

to leave this earth

I love;

I think I will feel

the warmth of so much

from here, and above,

that nothing will get

in the way of any

blue sky or cloud

Sometimes I think

about how it will be

when that time comes

at last, for me

I pray aloud

I believe

I believe

I will wander the path

of a bright blue star

I will watch over you

wherever you are.
