Just Another Windy Night

The wind is howling tonight...

Like a wolf with its prey in sight

Living flesh shivers under the chill

As the wind hones in for its kill

All night long it will plunder and seek

Till life is almost drained from the meek...

Those who have no home and sleep in the street

Their warmth is a nonexistent commodity

In their winter world...a complete oddity

Hiding from the wind as it rushes down upon them again

Settling down the best they can when they feel the wind begin

In their doorways…Under their bridges…In their cardboard city

Do you feel their pain or are you like the wind that has no pity
