The Mermaid and The Fisherman

A fisherman caught a mermaid
and carried her home to show
all of his friends and cronies
his treasure from below.

The man had an unhappy wife
and the mermaid on the shelf,
trapped in a box like a prisoner
Seemed a little like herself.

So the wife took the mermaid
to the beach, and helped
her into the water
And the mermaid thanked the
fisherman's wife
By turning him into an otter.
