Mildred
Mildred saved used postage stamps
The ones already licked she preferred
She liked the ones with pictures of plants
And she liked the ones with exotic birds
Queen Victoria on a half a crown
A half penny King George the Fifth
Stamps known the world around
With pictures of old sailing ships
She kept them in a box for shoes
Tucked under her old brass bed
Right next to a bottle of booze
And a forgotten piece of stale bread
Her collection was her pride and joy
She brought it out for her company
She cautioned, though, it was not a toy
Even though the stamps were always free
