Mothers’ Dilemma and War

Really, Mom, what could you have done

To stop "The War" from claiming your son?

Tied him with strands of invisible guilt

And witnessed his pride gently wilt

As he watched others take his place

In Aries’ unrelenting embrace?

Should he have agreed to remain behind

With others who had also declined

To defend the freedom they all adore

But just wasn't worth risking their lives for?
