Murina

Murina wore her wooden shoes

When she sold her tulip bulbs

Wooden shoes the brightest blue

The bulbs were in washing tubs

All the Dutch girls wore blue shoes

The Dutch boys all wore red

They wore them when they read the news

But took them off just before bed

Murina did a little Dutch dance

When she stood next to her cart

The people knew at a glance

When her dance was about to start

Her wooden shoes clicked and clacked

When she did her Grandfather Clog

But once her left shoe cracked

She had to wear a Yule log
