My Homecoming Feelings
I fought the battle
I stood the test.
Instead of pride
I got spit upon my chest.
You have the freedom
for which my brothers and I paid the price.
Whether we lived or died
was a roll of the dice.
We went where we were told
our country's battles, we did fight.
Once we got home we were told
that we were not right.
Those who have fought
and answered our country's call
should not be the ones
to take that fall
If you do not like
what we are told to do,
Then the change of government
is up to you.
Fight the policies.
Fight the laws.
Just do not fight those
who go into death's jaws.
