My Will For You

Unto you I bequeath my pain,

That you may know the crucible that gave you freedom.

My memories I also leave within your grasp,

That you may see in your mind’s eye

the glory I saw within my brothers at arms.

Unto you I bequeath this land,

for which I and countless others have bled and died.

I leave with you my heart

that you may feel the love my brothers instilled in mine,

and countless years of sharing  pride  surpassing most all sorrow .

But most of all, I give to you the sun, the moon, the stars,

For they have seen my pain and with soothing rain

Have washed away the pain

And for you, my friend, will be the watchful guide

For they will, until the end of time,

Be always there, be always true.
