No Free Mornings
When a morning brings on the first rays of light A chilly calm takes over from the passing night Quiet yawns and blinking eyes all greet another dawn One by one the relief settles in that the darkness is gone
When a morning brings on those unwanted smells Lingering odors of another night being spent in hell Another morning waking to find it wasn’t just a dream A rising sun only melts away the loudest of remembered screams
Overshadows the thoughts of never having a breakfast in bed Pairs of squinting eyes fixed on the ground where someone bled Peaceful sunny mornings were just not all they’re cracked up to be You don’t get them for free that I know go ahead and just ask me.
