No Name City
Hey lookie here and see what’s going on by Just an old tired vet walking on never seeing the skyMoving on down the dusty streets of a no name city Don’t just stare he’s not seeking any part of your pity He’s just out searching for that one last drop of freedom It’s been a long road to hell and back for him and his brothers Life ain’t been easy being full of thoughts of unwanted shame
Oh he can’t undo the many wrongs and mistakes that are past Just a lifetime spent trying to make sense of the visions they cast Just a common man done in by all the memories he’s amassed Just always wishing it could all be somehow undone for him at last
Unlike the oh so many who passed on along without him Was it luck or chance that he was chosen to remain Not much of a future when he can’t forget the past A lonely life being spent with more downs than ups Chilly nights and hot days never seem to change The miles spent alone will never end so it all seems Forever cursed he remains walking the streets of a no named city. © Copyright 1/5/2006 by John Jacobs
