No Sand Castles...Iraq
We have seen the statues toppled into the sands,
actions of the people, freed by our hands.
We have given them new choices,
given lives, to free their voices.
God, grant they take up the banner of right;
let there be no relapse to our fight.
Is there proof of the tyrants decline;
without it...can liberty shine?
Where are the weapons of mass destruction -
have we actually stopped their construction?
Have they vanished into the air
to just surface again somewhere?
Are the criminals laid in their graves
or somewhere planning to reclaim their slaves?
Our guard can never be dropped;
only with diligence...can tyranny be stopped.
Let no tyrants appear again...
otherwise...peace will just be a sand castle
...built before the wind
