Peace and Harmony

Peace and harmony: a restful feat,

Peace and harmony without a hasty retreat.

Many buddies lie dead tonight,

Many buddies that lost the fight.

Peace and harmony was their final goal,

Peace and harmony for which they sold their souls.

Many foes lie dead tonight,

Many foes who lost the very same fight.

Peace and harmony in an unmerciful world,

Peace and harmony that will yield to no boy or girl.

A soldier is supposed to risk his all and not cry;

Innocent women and children still seem to die.

Peace and harmony is a fool’s dream;

Peace and harmony isn’t even a lofty theme.

After 30 or 40 years seems

All that is left is a nighttime scream.
