Pest Control
In Vietnam
where the grass was tall
And rain
became a pest
My office
was a GP Small
With an OD
Field Desk
It had a
single 60 watt light
And a cot
to take a rest
Sometimes I
read at night
Often army
ants would infest
The ants
were a pain, alright
But the
snakes put me to the test
The most
unwanted guest an night
They were
the ones I detest
It turned a
horrific sight
You should
have seen the mess
When I
trained my rifle sight
I shot the
hell out of their nest
Slithering
off without a fight
I knew I’d
gotten the best
Of unwanted
reptiles harassing me at night
Now only
ants remain until the morning mess
