Photos of Vietnam

Your lush lands

Appear pristine

Mountains kissing the sky

Scenes of battles gone by

Flowers and laughing children belie

A time when we fought and died

Waves and friendly faces

Now dot the forbidden places

White beaches filled with life

No longer fearsome strife

Fishermen dot the sea

Where the warships used to be

Your fertile farmlands

Are no longer used

by the Cong's roving bands

No longer bomb abused

There are shadows still

Here and there and again

I remember against my will

A war we could not win

Vietnam

Jungle land by the sea

Grandfatherless families

And Agent Orange victims

Remember with me
