THE PIRATE TRILOGY
The Pirate
There once was a bold buccaneer named Gar, Prone to exclaim “yo-ho-ho” and “hardy-har-har!” He’d prance and he’d dance and he’d chuckle, As on the bounding main he proceeded to
swashbuckle. I watched his display hidden behind my fan all
the while, Then reluctantly gave him a coquettish smile. At last I cried, “Come to me, my roguish knave, And against better judgment, I shall be your
slave.”
The Other Pirate
There once was a swashbuckling dodger; Both his name and his flag were Jolly Roger. Though a three-masted schooner Would get me there sooner, With this bold Rogue I’d rather embark, Sailing the main with Roger – oh, what a lark! The Last Pirate
There once was a cunning laddie named Colin
Frank; He thrust and he parried as he rose through
pirate rank. Ladies, have a care, Pirate Gar will ravish
you, And with treasure Jolly Roger will lavish you. But be most wary of that rascal Colin Frank, For he shall have you walking the plank! Karen Rice, © 2008
