THE PIRATE TRILOGY

The Pirate

There once was a bold buccaneer named Gar,

Prone to exclaim “yo-ho-ho” and “hardy-har-har!”

He’d prance and he’d dance and he’d chuckle,

As on the bounding main he proceeded to swashbuckle.

I watched his display hidden behind my fan all the while,

Then reluctantly gave him a coquettish smile.

At last I cried, “Come to me, my roguish knave,

And against better judgment, I shall be your slave.”

The Other Pirate

There once was a swashbuckling dodger;

Both his name and his flag were Jolly Roger.

Though a three-masted schooner

Would get me there sooner,

With this bold Rogue I’d rather embark,

Sailing the main with Roger – oh, what a lark!

The Last Pirate

There once was a cunning laddie named Colin Frank;

He thrust and he parried as he rose through pirate rank.

Ladies, have a care, Pirate Gar will ravish you,

And with treasure Jolly Roger will lavish you.

But be most wary of that rascal Colin Frank,

For he shall have you walking the plank!
