PRETENDERS

Some trauma is not hidden,
Because it is not there,
Though it's generally forbidden,
Such knowing thoughts to share.
To protect the one's 'Fair Dinkum',
We must look the other way,
And let the great pretenders
Do with it as they may.
Because Trauma that is hidden,
Cannot be seen you see,
So those who are not smitten,
Look just like you and me.
And knowing how we suffer,
But mock our misery.
