The Purpose

On a slap happy Monday the deed was done

The slouch backed getters harvested the crop

Toiling long under the hot prairie sun

Five thousand bushels and ten hours on the clock

Life deals daisies when times are good

You take what you can and plant the rest

You do all now that you thought you could

There’s no guarantee - you just have to guess

You live life full, the bestest you can

What is the outcome or reason, you ask?

Just your space on a piece of dry land

Making life go the longest it can last

What is the reason – what do you care?

It’s better you think than not knowing at all

What reasons there are and thoughts you share

You never really know you just follow the call
