THE REGIMENTAL CAT

He was the Fifth and Yorkshire Regimental Cat
they fed him tidbits; he gave them tit-for-tat
He purred to give them solace and
helped reduce their fears
and sometimes in the nighttime,
he licked away their tears.

He was the Regimental Feline
he was a blessing to them all
He caused a little laughter
and he came when they would call.....

He was the Fifth and Yorkshire Regimental Cat
he gave them love and comfort;
Oh the Fifth and Yorkshire Regimental Cat
was beloved of them all,
and he was satisfied with that.
