Rhyme without Reason
Strength and conviction are not
an addiction
They’re gained through savvy and
skill
Should you have both, there is a
prediction
That you have mastered the art
of free will
With overt benediction there is
a predilection
Those ideas come without fanfare
and frill
Thoughts with merit deserve
utmost protection
The least of which may cost us
goodwill
Ideas float around without known
direction
To be sorted and advanced in a
way we can fulfill
By giving them notice we hone to
perfection
Their function we won’t let
stand still
They play at their station
without consternation
With steady precision and the
lack of perilous thrill
Strength and conviction are now
a collection
Of character-- after that it’s
all downhill
