Saddam Hussein, shortly after capture 12/13/2003

In the Bad Old Days

Ladies and Gentlemen...

Ladies and Gentlemen
We got him!!!!
And the world erupted with joy
At the same time, some mother's boy
was enduring the sand, and a lonely night
anxiety-ridden; waiting to fight
It's not over. Hasn't been over -
never will be over for them.
And while I'm thrilled that we got "him"
his followers are out there,
plotting, planning, making bombs
angry, violent, and very aware
that our sons and daughters are
still over there.
Before it's all over
Before it's all done
There'll be one final casualty,
someone's daughter or son.

Saddam: Center Stage

Saddam…Saddam
...formerly Iraq’s great
Where have you been
...Hiding in a hole
...making us wait
while freedom’s music did ring
and the whole world was waiting
just to hear you sing
...Didn’t you hear our music
Weren’t you home…were you sick
...You missed your cue
...so we brought the show to you
We are all impatiently waiting
to hear your sweet voice
You will be the critic’s choice
Now sing for this crowd...sing real loud..
Come on Saddam…you don’t have to be shy
...but remember we don’t want no lullaby

Really, Saddam

Saddam, it's sad, dam sad,

the way you look is pretty bad -

Imagine, a famous leader like you

hiding in a spider hole, out of view.

Everyone's a thief in your beady eyes.

Now, Saddam, even you must realize

that not everyone's a thief, and even so,

torture and hangings aren't the way to go.

Would you judge yourself, as you did them?

Do you still see yourself in the same old light

Or is the light beginning to grow dim?

Old Saddam, you're a coward; you did not fight.

You said I want to "negotiate."

Negotiate what, you reprobate?

You're a strange and cruel man

and I can't pretend to comprehend

how you came to be this way.

But you will be treated better in the end

than the ones you killed, tortured and maimed

I think a deep hole was the right place for you

I mean, really, Saddam, aren't you ashamed?

I cannot even pray for you

and I'm sure you wouldn't want it

You committed unspeakable acts on men

you waved your rifle; your power was flaunted.

Now, if only we can find

Osama Bin Laden - who's next in line

The two of you could share a cell

and live side by side in a fiery Hell.
