Sandstone Walls
Two sides divided only by
This here wall
With one side safe and sound
The other side a battleground
Side one is where
All the bleeding-hearts can be found
Side two is where the real bleeding lies on the ground
The place where each drop of blood falls down
But not one drop can be heard hitting the ground
For all of the bleeding hearts crying so loud
From those who are really hurting you hear not a sound
Those who shed not one drop of blood
Telling us it is their right to say it out aloud
Tell us what we should and should not be allowed
But God forbid they get their hands dirty
Or have to shed one drop of their blood
Enjoy what they believe to be their God-given right
That has never ever been that at all
When it was the blood of those who truly believed
Enough to put a uniform on and step up
To really fight for the right to keep our rights free
Knowing they may be the ones who blood
May drop to the floor and run across to the wall
To where their brothers and sisters cold bodies in bags
Lay all in a line up against that divided
Sandstone Walls
Stopping their blood from flowing
To the other side where the bleeding hearts
Stand there crying about what is to them right
When those who fight for them to say it
Without losing one signal drop of their blood
After my brothers and sisters had given there all
Each one of them in a line along the wall
At the start of another day there will be
Another pair of boots with a rifle barrel facing down
With a helmet placed on the butt of it
Hanging from it for all to see
A pair of dog tags with the names
Of those who lives paid the price
For those who would never believe enough
To step up and pick a uniform to put on
To believe enough to go to other lands
Fight for all of us here to have
The right to choose freely
I would like to know this from all of you
Who use what you never believe in enough to fight for
Shed one drop of your blood to use that right
Where is your honor in doing something like that
With you knowing how many have lost theirs and their life
To keep our homeland like that for all
Whose blood, bodies, and boots are standing at those
Sandstone Walls
