Silent Screams
I’m only wanting to return to the days of where I came from Other side of the tracks muddy river flowing being just young and dumb Carefree days sitting on a dock sun shining down no need for a clock Simple days fishing and grinning now all hidden behind a mental block
Got to wake up from this long terrible dream Rid this mind of the haunting silent screams
Savoring the heart thumping feel of that first kiss That first hand in hand walk memory is what I miss A moonlit Saturday night skate with a hot looking date All went by so fast never noticing my future’s sad fate
Sin free days passed on by replaced with the horrors of a war Carefree thoughts locked up tight underneath a black door Wouldn’t ever wish this state of mind on any one of you Forgetting one’s youth nobody should have to go through
Got to wake up from this long terrible dream Rid this mind of the haunting silent screams
