Steadfast
Opinions
laid at my door
do not necessarily
belong to me
I speak to those
the ones who have chosen
to fill my mouth with words
their ears did think
to hear me speak
those words that would be pleasant
and safe for the meek
The truth be known
in my mind what I know
to be true will stand
even if it has to stand alone
so those who have left their opinions
on my doorstep
please collect them
and take them home
for I have enough
that are my own
and if I choose
to make them known
you might just wish
you had left me alone
For all of your whittlings
you may just find
some of these opinions of mine
are chiseled in stone
