The Stranger

I've come too far upon the road

to stop and linger

I know that times relentless march

will still go on

Inside the fire I still can see

a glowing ember

The flame that's burned inside of me

so very long

I think back to a time that

I can still remember

Back in the days when I was young

and I was strong

And every day I knew was filled up

with the wonder

And the nights could never, ever

last too long

So here I am again a stranger

on the journey

Upon a road I pray will someday

lead me home

For I've grown weary of this world

I see around me

And a peace too long that

I have never known
