The Thistle
For years and years and years I
thought
The thistle was a weed
And for years and years and
years I fought
The thistle's prolific seed
But then I found that the
thistle was bound
To be a part of me
For now I know the thistle I
found
Is part of Scottish creed
And for years and years from now
I'll save that noxious seed
I'll fill all the bird feeders
and maintain a healthy breed
Of chickadees and sparrows and
all the buntings that I need
Will have a fluffy, thistledown
ass and a purple crest on tweed
