~THE DOLPHINS' TALE~
A mermaid listens, quite intently, as the dolphins speak oh, so, gently
Telling their stories of men in ships ladies with parasols and reddened lips....
The mermaid giggles ~a bubbly sound ~ as the dolphins smile and gather 'round
for they love their mermaid and her peaceful ways she always has time during endless days
The dolphins tell of sailors reaching out to touch their skin; and little girls jumping waves, and getting too far in.....
We help, they said, we nudge them back ...... So many humans We can't keep track......
And so their Mermaid listened to stories of ship and sail, of children and Sailors rescued
For this was the Dolphins' Tale.
