THEY SAY~~~

They say "He gave his life..."
I don't think that's quite true.
They "took" his life from him...
while he fought for me and you.
His own sweet mother gave him life;
It was not his to give ~
If truth be told, and he'd grown old
He'd say he wanted just to live.
He was brave, and he felt fear;
his "life" was real, but brief ~
he didn't "give" it easily,
he felt no swift relief.
He did his best, he prayed, and yet ~
he held his life most dear.
I hope we never will forget
the boy he was  ~ last year.
