We have cried rivers of tears
Written millions of words over
the years
Embraced strangers until they
became friends
How far have we come...
Do we now sleep at night
Content until dawnings’ light
Or do we toss and turn
Tussling with demons until
daylight
How far have we come...
When you say you care
Do you really...
Or are you just glad
That your shoes never went there

Are we just a cult bound by
blood...
Blood that was shed in our stead
Is it guilt that bands us
together...
Or true empathy..

I know you and you know me
