| Today's
Thoughts! |
| |
| Little
questions in my ear tickle, sweet winds blow a gentle whisper |
| friendship
brings a reminder, kind words can heal a heartache. |
| |
| On
this day of deep sadness, Sacred Ceremony held to honor |
| all
the Warriors on that day of horror, attacked without warning. |
| |
| This
rising sun my Grandmother, weakly shining through the coldness |
| Infamy
is what they called it, Hero's born , and died trying. |
| |
| Upset
lives, and torn up world, genocide in two lands, murdered People |
| what
did they win, with those bloody battles, was the cost worth it? |
| |
| Hate
the wars, but show honor to the warriors always |
| it
was not they who chose the battles, they only fought them. |
| |
| Trapped
within, and shown injustice, in their own home lands |
| Americans
were placed in camps, rounded up once again like cattle. |
| |
| Japanese
decent was their mistake, though not those of German |
| yet
still today, few ask why, it is accepted the "color" separated.
|
| |
| Of
the rest, we served as well, the Wind Talkers, saved the day |
| though
not acknowledged at the time, Ira Hayes lost his mind. |
| |
| Still,
I honor them one, and all, my own uncle who was shot down |
| and,
the white men who were his friends, in that German prison camp. |
| |
| Wars
we may never be free of, healing we may never have |
| but
friendships are up to us, reaching out, one by one! |
