Misfit
Some feelings are insistent
And depression comes to mind
It brings out an emotion
That at best is most unkind
My bunker was a friend of mine
A place of solace fair
And I don't function well
When I'm not safe within its lair
This world and me don't get along
Still here in spite of it
But ever since the war
It's been a place I do not fit

The Code
I've been to many places
On my long and twisted road
But in an angry land I learned
To keep an honored code
A code taught to me long ago
Back in a distant place
That said though I be weary
There's no quitting in the race
A code that says keep going
A code that says don't quit
A code that says no matter what
Go on in spite of it

Guide
I have found my heart has heard
The words that He will say
When I would but listen
As he whispers in my day
Life is just a test to find out
Where your heart is bound
Some learn very quickly
Always seek the higher ground
Feeling so uncertain
As my days are now unsure
Finding that I'm nothing more
Than what I can endure
Every time He humbles me
I know He has a plan
For it's there upon His anvil
I am made a better man
