Twin Towers
How can one bear the agonies of the world
When it’s so hard to bear those of one's own?
What is our purpose when such thoughts unfold,
Perhaps an expression we do not condone?
We may express our helplessness away,
By trying to share what we cannot share,
Trying to make for others a better day,
That love combined may spread out everywhere.
Our short grief spares not cruel horror's wrath,
Which through those loved ones hearts doth vilely creep,
Retaining all those cries of awful death,
That still as echoes haunt the city street.
What can we do but pray and find some joy,
In the memories that cruel time cannot destroy?
