Veteran’s Day

A few powerful words on a piece of parchment

Has evolved from experiment into a way of life

We vowed to defend and protect that Constitution

And held our resolve in every strife

We come from every walk of life and trade

Your sons and daughters hearing the call

We had the certainty of our conviction

To our nation we have offered our all

Through the years we have stood firm

Through all perils, protecting this great land

By land, sea, or in the air

Our testament, "United we stand"

We were willing to defend our principles

And pay the ultimate when required

We have been heralded and reviled

Shell shocked and just plain tired

The time has come time to pay the price

For that service we gave so dear

We only ask to be remembered.

Veteran's Day comes but once a year.
